Falling behind again

I don't know what's wrong with me, why I continue to not update my DA. I still visit the site every day to check for messages and look at the pictures all the people I'm following post. I never seem to upload my own stuff though. Going to remedy that soon! Sorry in advance if I just dump everything all at once up on here. XD

The audio really sucks because I left it til the last minute. I had to record, mix, and time it to the animation within just a couple hours before the animation was due for class. I might try to fix it up one day if I'm feeling not lazy.
As for my costumes, I have already updated my cosplay.com account. I'll be adding a few photos here but there are more pictures and info about my cosplay there. www.cosplay.com/member/287895/

Autodesk Maya

I've been saying for years that I'd like to learn 3D animation... well I finally took the plunge and enrolled in an online class through the Academy of Arts University. The course is ANM 202 OL1: 3D Modeling and Animation 1 (Maya). I was sort of nervous just jumping into a class that uses a program I've never touched before, but luckily for me the online instructor describes things pretty well. And there are videos to watch which really helps a visual learner like me!
Its my first time taking an online only class. Pretty exciting and I'm learning a lot already. Hopefully I'll have something worth sharing by the summer!

Name Change!

The whole reason I got a premium membership here... new name!
Nine years is long enough to hold onto my first dorky online alias. Lots of good memories, but it has been feeling stale for the past couple years. So out with the old, and in with the new.
How do you guys like the new name and icon? I made up the name Naerko a few years ago when I used it for my Selkie's name in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and then for my Tideborn Assassin character in Perfect Wold.
Hopefully the change isn't too confusing. I think DA has a good system where my old username in any links should be directed to my new page.

Snagged myself a DA premium membership while the 'buy one get one' offer was up.
I'm most likely going to name change sometime soon. I've narrowed it down to a few names that I'd like to switch to. So expect that in the near future
I have a lot of cosplay pictures I hope to start uploading soon. Also, I have a couple new drawings that are near complete.
Hopefully I'll start picking up my activity here now... unlike the last couple journal updates where I said the same thing but then did not follow up. I really mean it this time!

Sorry everyone for the inactivity. Hoping to turn that around soon. I'm considering buying a premium membership here for a bit so that I can name change. Might help motivate me to be more active here again.
Working retail has had a surprisingly destructive influence on my creative motivation. Still have plenty of inspiration of things I want to draw and create, but work leaves me so tired I just want to veg on my time off.
I have been sewing a lot this year though!
has inspired me to pick cosplay back up. I made a cosplay.com account: username Kymareon
I'll start submitting some of my favorite shots here too. So expect a flood of photos soon. XD
And speaking of cosplay... just got back from Fanime this past weekend! It was my first time at that con, but it was amazing, will definitely go back again! Our group performed in the masquerade, and our Sailor Moon skit got the Judge's Award for Performance!
